"...this toy is much more durable than I would
have expected a cardboard toy to be! Very
impressive... These little toys are a great
idea, and surprisingly fun to decorate and
play with. They bring a needed taste of
simplicity back into a world where everything
is complex and expensive."
"Are the kids trying to
decide whether they're in
the mood to color a pictue
or build a model? Why
choose? This craft kit from
German toy company
Calafant brilliantly blends
the two favorite creative
pastimes."

"It’s not so much that the items themselves are
spectacular as it is that they offer unending
creative possibilities for the creative child. They
are big and seem sturdy and truly bring creativity
back to the toy arena. Best of all, if and when
your child gets tired of them, they can simply be
recycled. You aren’t wasting space in a landfill
somewhere.
Awesome!
Check out the video of how Melissa T. and her 3
year old son built and painted the Pirate
Fortress!  Melissa says: "Connor instantly
turned the Pirate Fortress we built into a place
for his GI Joes and cars to have adventures.
The structure only took about 10 minutes to
construct and we had so much fun painting it
together!"
"I am extremely impressed with these
toys and I can't recommend them
enough."
"The palace is a great choice for
parents who want to promote their
children's creativity, and it is a
wonderful, unique present for a kid
that wants a cool toy. "
The Calafant Castle is a simple, cardboard
castle you and your grandchildren assemble
together... Whether your grandchildren have
designed a king's castle for great battles to
take place, or a fairy tale-princess's
residence, the finished piece can be used as
a set for extended hours of play and
imagination.

No doubt, these open-ended, creative
toys encourage young minds by leaving
the doors wide open to all sorts of
possibilities...no matter if you have a
princess or a pirate.
"This is a gift that will keep on giving as the
child spends hours decorating and then
once it is is decorated puts in into use. "
Create. Play. Recycle. You've got to love these
green gifts I found from my friends at the Creative
Toy Shop. Calafant is a toy that fosters creative
play. They are foldable cardboard forms that turn
into amazing playthings. The resulting
Rosegarden Palace ($14.99 top) was awesome.
Then the girls used the castle as a backdrop for
playing with figures. We will be using this for
many months!
"...here's a relatively inexpensive playset that'll
keep your little buccaneers occupied during the
cold season. Calafant's Pirate Ship easily
assembles to 10 inches high and includes 12
markers so that you can decorate it any way you
like."
"I'm loving this CALAFANT cardboard palace kit available at
http://www.creativetoyshop.com. I find environmentally friendly
toys like this so refreshing! The kids get to decorate to their
hearts content. And parents will find it pretty easy to put the
pre-punched and pre-cut pieces together (no glue!), and the
quality is amazing. The palace comes in white, which makes
gives your children a wide open canvas to let their crayons,
glitter, and paint make it their own. Creative Toyshop carries
over 20 different models - tons of stuff for boys, too.
My son and I had a lot of fun with this project. This is a Level 1 toy
from Calafant and was very age appropriate for my 4 year old.
After I showed him how to begin putting the dinosaur together, he
was able to do it himself. It is one piece of cardboard that you
fold. It fits together - and stays together - without any glue. We
then used the included markers to decorate our project. I liked
that after the "craft" was complete, my son wanted to play with his
dinosaur. It took quite a beating too - surprisingly strong. He has
since taken it apart and put it back together a few times. It is really
fun for him to master the process.

My two favorite features:
1. I love doing crafts, but sometimes I just don't want a big mess
to deal with. This craft could not be more clean. There isn't any
waste - it folds up perfectly - no little bits of anything. The markers
were not messy either.
2. This is an eco-friendly product. When my son tires of it it can go
into the recycling bin - not the trash

"In addition to being eco-friendly these toys are also
price-friendly. The small toys like this Spaceship
are only $6.99. These would be great as party
favors for your child's next birthday party! Think
about how much money you spend on those typical
junky favors. It is probably about the same. So why
not go for something that is more fun and more
useful?"

Teensygreen.com:
"The Calafant small kits... are sturdy, and can
hold up to markers, crayons, stickers, glitter,
paint, anything your kids can think to throw on it.
The high quality cardboard allows the toy to
stand on it’s own, and they’re fully
biodegradable. They may even outlast the junk
food! You can buy them in party packs of eight,
which puts them under $7 per piece - a very
reasonable price for a thoughtful party favor."

"Cardboard toys are low cost and eco friendly. You can recycle
them in your own backyard compost pile. They are also
wonderfully creative toys for kids. Kids can assemble them and
they can personalize them making the toy their own unique
creation.

For the past couple weeks my kids have been playing with
cardboard toys from the Creative Toyshop. They have TONS of
awesome Calafant cardboard toys"
